Kawasaki KEBC Removal
Why
If you unplug the KEBC actuator, the 2WD/4WD lights flash back and forth. In order to fix the issue, you need to duplicate the signal to the indicator.
How it Works
When in 2WD, the switch sends a - signal to the controller through the green wire. The controller sends no signal to the indicator as none is needed for the 2WD light to remain on. When the switch is in the 4WD position, the green wire has no signal and the controller sends a – signal to the indicator to turn on the 4WD light.
How to Bypass
The wires needed to do this are located at the actuator controller under the seat. The wire colors are green (signal from switch) and green/white (signal to indicator). The green/white wire needs to see ground when in 4WD and nothing when in 2WD; this is exactly backwards from what the switch outputs to the controller. A Single Pull Double Throw (SPDT) relay is needed to change the output around so the when the switch sends a – signal to the relay and controller, the relay sends no signal to the dash indicator and when the switch sends no signal to the relay, the relay sends a – signal to the dash indicator.

I looked up the CVT Cover and Overdrive cover on Ronayers.com, the VForce CVT cover is $47 and the Overdrive clutch plate is $60. Not bad. I will definately put the Vforce CVT cover on. I just wonder how the Vforce plate performs compare to the Dalton.

When I had my Prairie, I just disconnected the wiring. Of course, that makes the 2wd 4wd light blink, but I could live with that. Rarely look down at the speedo anyway. Especially on a Prairie.

If you look at the pics of the manual, both wires needed are under the seat. They are also in the gauge housing, but mine is full of relays and wiring already and I would rather do the mod under the seat.

I recently took the actuator off all together. I bought a hole plug, O rings, and 3 bolts. It turned out great. See KOD's site for pics of how he did it.

I did this mod it works but the switch is in 2wh and the dash says 4wh, when in 4wh the dash says 2wh. Did I do some thing wrong or is this the way it should work. I tried changing the wires around but stays the same , any help. Thanks

There are different ways to do this....but which wires did you switch? I think you need to switch your +/- wires?
I'm sorry I don't know what type of relay you have, depends on if your using a Normally open or Normally closed type or side of the relay. Switching the +/- or from NO to NC should do the same thing.

To me, it sounds like your 87a and 87 are switched. What pin do you have the ground wire on?

I did it under the set just like it says in the diag. I tried to switch 87 and 87a, blow the swithch would only show 2wh in the dash, went and got another one and its still the same 2 and 4w are not working correctly. I can hear both switchs when I change from 2 to 4w or 4 to 2 so its working just opposite of what it should be.

Your right, there is a couple diff ways to do this, at the controller under the seat, or up at the display. Sorry your having trouble, when we see some pics maybe we can help more.

I hope that fixes your problem. Let us know how it goes. Verify with a test light that you have all of the correct wires before you plug them into your relay. I would hate to see you lose another relay and that much more time.
